Wei was born in Longyan, Fujian Province, China, in 1992. He completed his B.Sc. degree at Tianjin Normal University in 2015. In 2020, he received his Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Jin-Pei Cheng and Prof. Xin Li at Nankai University. After graduation, he pursued postdoctoral research with Prof. Da-Gang Yu at Sichuan University from 2020 to 2023. His research primarily focused on the activation and conversion of CO2 through visible-light photocatalysis.
